Sovereign Magistral

Prince Grand Master

Head of State of the Templar Principality

Professor Matthew Bennett

J.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., J.S.D., J.C.D.

Barrister, King’s Counsel (K.C.), Privy Councillor (P.C.)

Professor Matthew Bennett fully pursued several parallel careers, because all were necessary and directly relevant to his humanitarian missions.  This resulted in earning multiple academic degrees, because his practical work in each career required constantly writing doctoral level research, often in cooperation with universities.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Foreign Languages (1993) from Union College (terms abroad at University of Rennes France), relevant to translating ancient and medieval documents.  He completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering (1996) from the Pontifical Academy of Sacred Sciences (externship at Moscow State Technical University), specializing in electrofield physics of the mechanics of consciousness.

He is a Professor of International Law holding a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in International Law (1997) from Dickinson School of Law, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Affairs (2001) from the Royal Institute of Geopolitics and Diplomacy (externship at Russian Academy of Natural Sciences), and “Professorship” Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.) in International Law (2008) from the Royal Institute of Law and Justice (externship at Tver State University Russia).

He is a Professor of Ancient and Medieval History holding a “Professorship” Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Archaeology and Egyptology (2012) from the Pontifical Academy of History and Culture (externship at Russian Ministry of Culture), and Juris Canonici Doctor (J.C.D.) in Canon Law (2016), from the Royal Institute of Law and Justice (externship at Vatican-Anglican Franciscan Order).

He actively uses archaeology to recover time-tested solutions to modern problems, restoring the ancient pillars of civilization as keys to sovereign authorities in modern conventional international law.

He began his career as Chief of Special Operations for the Strategic Service for International Security (1994-2009), a multinational State Security agency, providing legal security and protection of national critical infrastructure for governments, empowering private sector industries with government caliber security resources, and supporting law enforcement and prosecutors in organized crime and corruption cases.

During 15 years as a Security Chief, he served as unofficial Advisor to Presidential Administrations, and is considered an honorary national security veteran.

He shifted his career to become Chief Legal Counsel of the Historical Preservation Society (HPS) based in London (2008-2012), applying his international law skills to facilitate the restoration of sovereign historical institutions, as a strategic vehicle for projects supporting human rights.

He was vetted and established as an International Barrister (2013), as a rank of the independent legal profession in Common Law, specializing in human rights and cross-border enforcement, and representing sovereign historical institutions of statehood and diplomatic status.

He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) and Privy Councillor (P.C.) by Letters Patent (2018), for kingdoms of world heritage leading an ancient Royal Alliance.

Throughout all of the above, he remained life-long Career Clergy:  In canonical classical Churches of the 12th century Independent Church Movement and 19th century Old Catholic Movement, he was ordained as Priest (1988), admitted to a Benedictine Order of Exorcists (1991), consecrated as Bishop (1992), elevated to Archbishop (1993), and finally to Cardinal (2013).

The Anglican “Sacred Order of Saint Francis” from 1212 AD, leading the Independent Church Movement of 1145 AD and Old Catholic Movement of 1870 AD, with Templar Apostolic Succession lines carrying legal sovereign succession of Pontifical authority of the Templar Priesthood, enacted a “Charter of Pontifical Reestablishment” (2013) signed by five career Vatican Bishops.

In that Charter, Professor Matthew was elected Prince Grand Master (Head of State) of the restored Order of Knights of the Temple (2013), which governed the Principalities of Antioch, Tripoli and Edessa from 1129 AD, making the Order a sovereign non-territorial (international) Principality.  This made him legally and officially a Prince, with the style of address “Most Eminent Highness (M.E.H.)”.

As the Templar Prince Grand Master, Professor Matthew also holds a constitutional seat as Coadjutor Pontiff (since 2015) of the restored 12th century Ancient Apostolic Church as a Sister State of the Templar Order, representing the original 1st century denomination of Ancient Christianity.
